A surprise wedding proposal can be one of the most romantic gestures we get to see first hand. Capturing the absolute shock and real candid emotions are what makes it so special. I imagine that any one who has ever been proposed to probably has the memories that will last a life time, but there is something so special about photographing it happen and having these photos to retell the story.
Pulling off a surprise proposal can be a nerve wracking proposition for the proposer. This groom had to change his original plans - the LOVE statue on the Scottsdale Mall is apparently closed. So he needed a last minute change of plans. Talk about adding stress to an already stressful day for him. The back up plan worked out amazing. Not sure how he convinced his bride-to-be that going to the Desert Botanical Gardens on a September afternoon with temps close to 110 was a good idea. But he managed - as you can see be the look of surprise on her face!
In the end, I think it worked out better here. We were hiding in plain site - there are so many DBG visitors that walk around with cameras that we blend right in. The LOVE statue is a sweet idea but the last time we had a surprise proposal there, the poor groom had to wait in a line for his turn to be in front of the statue - making it probably more stressful. There are always crowds around that statue - so this moment at the DBG was much more intimate and private. It was beautiful.
We wish these two all the happiness in the world! Congratulations!
