Spanish mission arch

the blog:

Hi All,
Tonight I am showing an image that kind of returns me to my photographic roots. It is a simple study in black and white. It is an arch from a spanish mission here in Arizona. It brings me back to the days when I would pull all nighters in the darkroom trying to obtain a perfect print. Perfection is of course completely subjective when it comes to art. The smell of the chemicals and the thrill of the print appearing in the tray are a wonder that many new photographers today have not and may never witness. The frustration and eventual satisfaction as each print gets closer to our vision for it. There is an unmistakable beauty in the imperfect. Darkroom work reminds me of a chemistry experiment with the outcome being art.

That said, enjoy the photo and don’t be afraid to comment on it and/or the accompanying text.

Sincerely,

Keith
